It would seem that i'm not the only person to pick up on this wonderful new trend.
Students afar afield as New Zealand, Indonesia and USA are already designing with this approach in mind.
I've done a quick review of what some of our next generation of designers are doing and i'm pleased to say they are looking at the substrate and the story telling of the product and delivering wonderfully executed designs.
I find so regularly that I get drawn to the work of students as the stand out pieces from a range.
I've recently been working with two new junior designers who bring an excitement and freedom to their work that translates into every idea, image and sketch that they do. Students can usually design without restraint as they have not been worn down by print processes, safe Marketers and Design Dictators applying a single minded approach. (oops I mean Design Directors)
Are designers in their prime from 18-24yrs of age and everything after this is just a compromise?
Be sure to check out the designs below, the work is from Po Chun Chang, Hannah Volz, Paola Meraz, Colin Garven, Devi Natalia, Brandon Rampelt and Nitin Budhiraja

packaged, wrapped and slightly opinionated
