I came across these wonderful photo's on trend hunter that convey this 'Stripping down' process, an almost tangible form of immersion, a realist mood board.
I've always been fascinated by the 'before' and 'after' shots for packaging redesigns. The Dieline have a category particularly for such enthusiasts as myself.
I always wonder if the packaging has been rebuilt correctly and if brand dissection actually took place. Did the agency look at best using the substrate? the brand hierarchy? architecture? colours? and consumer messaging?
I've picked a few of my favourites off Dieline from agencies such as Bloom, TDA Boulder, Stromme Throndsen Design, Bluegg, Kimberly Clark and JKR - let me know your views.
